House TH Kitchen

The design for House TH is based on a classic pitched roof housing type from the 1950s, a typology to which Constanze Ladner has always felt a strong emotional connection. TH stands for “Traumhaus” (Dream House) and exists so far purely as a conceptual project, developed entirely in her mind as an expression of how she would plan, refine, and visualize such a home. The house is entered from the gable end, leading into a narrow hallway painted in a deep, vibrant blue. From here, a softly curved archway clad in light oak veneer opens into the kitchen, establishing it as the first and defining space of the house.

The kitchen is the starting point and heart of the entire design concept and functions as a combined cooking, dining, and living space. It was conceived as warm and inviting, yet elegant and highly practical. A large green onyx kitchen island forms the center of the room, positioned between two double terrace doors that allow interior and exterior to flow into one another. All walls are clad in calm, light oak veneer up to the ceiling, creating a sense of comfort and enclosure. A generous corner upholstered bench and a round dining table encourage conversation and togetherness, whether cooking, eating, or lingering with guests. Open shelving, integrated storage, carefully placed mirrors, soft textiles, and a layered lighting concept ensure that the kitchen works equally well as a functional workspace and as an atmospheric social setting, adaptable from everyday use to long evenings and celebrations.
